Some Scientific Research and Educational Institutions in India

This list of scientific and educational institutions in India was first compiled on the occasion of the first Open House at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research
The aim of this compilation is to give the public -- in particular, students, parents and teachers -- a flavour of the extent of Indian scientific endeavour. Although this list is by no means exhaustive, it is quite clear that research in India spans the spectrum of all areas of basic and applied sciences.
